Why Lion & Lamb Pottery?
Hi, I’m Laura the artist and potter behind Lion & Lamb Pottery. I am based in Mount Sterling Kentucky, where I grew up, this is home. I went to college at Morehead State University and took 2 ceramic classes while I was working on getting my bachelors in graphic design, from there I was hooked. Unfortunately I never thought I could afford or have my own studio set up so I didn’t touch clay for over 13 years. God showed me anything is possible with Him, even in the midst of being a wife, full time mama to two little boys as well as working a full time job. I don’t have much time to create but when I do I truly enjoy working on each piece and bringing what once was a lump of clay, to something functional and beautiful. God truly wants to give us the desires of our hearts. I’m slowly seeing my dream come to life in the midst of our cramped garage between toddler toys, yard equipment and hunting/fishing gear but it keeps me humble and Im so thankful I have a space to create!
God is the only reason that I have been given the opportunity to do this. He has multiple names but two of the very many; He is known as The Lion of Judah and The Lamb that was slain. When trying to come up with a business name for my pottery business, I felt the Lord told me that it should be called Lion & Lamb Pottery. Coincidently, (but not really because nothing is coincidence with God) LLP is also my initials! I thought that was the coolest thing whenever He revealed that to me.
As a christian it’s my mission to spread the gospel to many nations (Matthew 28:19-20) . I feel like this is my mission field.
Jesus came down from Heaven to save us, Gods only son. He came in the form of a baby who grew up facing the same temptations we all do, yet, He did not sin. He traded his Heavenly home for a broken one all because He loves us. He preached the good news, many believed, others did not. He gives us all a choice because He is a loving God. He went to the cross to die a gruesome death, a perfect sacrifice had to be paid for the sin of the world; because He went in our place we now have access to have a relationship with God. Jesus died, but He rose again on the third day. If we choose to believe that we can have eternal life with Him. Jesus’ death on the cross was necessary for us as we can never be perfect. We would never make it to Heaven if it was based off of our works. Our love of God is what motivates us to do good works because of what He’s done for us.
Having a relationship with Jesus has truly changed my life. Once you encounter Him, you are never the same again. I hope you will allow Him to change your life too.
Thanks for being here! I truly appreciate you and I’m thankful for your support.
